The Info-Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore has made Issue 3 of Revision 1 of the draft Technical Specification for Short Range Devices available for public review. In April 2023 the latest improvements in international standards are being put into practice, changing the requirements for equipment safety testing and adjusting spectrum allocations and power limits.
In 2016 the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore merged into the IMDA. Accordingly, radio and telecommunications equipment previously regulated by the IDA is now regulated by the IMDA. The IMDA develops technical specifications on the recommendation of the Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC) and sets the procedures and requirements for registering telecommunications equipment, so it combines standards development and regulation in one body.
Radio and telecommunications equipment sold in Singapore must be registered in accordance with IMDA requirements.
