The Bolivian Authority for Telecommunications and Transport (ATT) has issued a new regulatory administrative resolution, ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 539/2024, governing registration and approval of telecommunications and ICT equipment. Finalised on 6 November 2024 and published in early December, it replaces the previous regulation ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 443/2023, in force since 28 September 2023.
Requirements
The new resolution takes effect immediately and requires amendments to applications for equipment approval already in progress so that they comply with the following provisions. The regulator must carry out a prior review of the documents before an application is submitted, and once the review is passed ATT issues an entry number authorising the product to enter the country formally.
In addition, the validity of newly issued certificates is extended to 10 years instead of the previous 5. Certificates already issued remain valid for their original 5 years, while certificates issued after resolution 539/2024 came into force are valid for up to 10 years.
