On 27 June 2024 the European Chemicals Agency formally published the 31st update to the REACH candidate list, adding one substance, so the SVHC list now contains 241 entries. The new substance is shown below.
Under the REACH Regulation, once a substance is identified as an SVHC it is placed on the candidate list established by the regulation, which creates direct legal obligations for suppliers of that substance:
1. Provide a safety data sheet.
2. Communicate on safe use.
3. Respond to consumer requests within 45 days.
4. Notify ECHA if an article contains more than one tonne per producer or importer per year of an SVHC at a concentration above 0.1 percent by weight.
5. Notify SVHC information in articles containing more than 0.1 percent by weight to ECHA's SCIP database.
