On 27 June 2023, the Bluetooth SIG Board of Directors (BoD) approved a 15% increase in membership fees, effective 1 January 2024.

The specific changes to the fee structure are as follows:

For Bluetooth product BQB certification, the DID fee will rise by 15%, the annual fee will rise by 15%, and the Bluetooth SIG DID fee will increase. If you plan to certify multiple products under BQB before 1 January 2024, it is advisable to purchase DID numbers in advance before this change takes effect to save certification costs. A DID is valid for one year.

What is BQB certification?

BQB certification is generally called Bluetooth qualification. Products with Bluetooth functionality that display the Bluetooth logo on their exterior must pass Bluetooth BQB certification.

Only certified and authorised products are genuine Bluetooth products, can guarantee that their compatibility and performance meet the standards, and can lawfully use the Bluetooth trademark and the relevant Bluetooth specifications.
