The Thai NBTC issued approval guidelines for Wi-Fi products on 28 April, which have officially entered into force.
Requirements of the approval guidelines for 5.925-6.425 GHz (such as Wi-Fi 6E)
Certification type: SDoC
Required test reports:
1) RF test report based on FCC Part 15.407 (ETSI EN is not accepted). The required test clauses are as follows:
1.1 Maximum output power:
Limits
Frequency (GHz)
|
Maximum e.i.r.p. output power (mW)
|
Maximum e.i.r.p. output power (dBm)

Note: where outdoor equipment is approved, a test report at 250 mW e.i.r.p. output power will be rejected. The test report required by the NBTC is 25 mW e.i.r.p.
1.2 Maximum power spectral density:
1.3 Channel bandwidth
1.4 Out-of-band spurious emissions
1.5 In-band emissions
1.6 CBP
Remarks: access points with output power above 25 mW (e.i.r.p.) but not exceeding 250 mW (e.i.r.p.) must not be battery powered.
2) EMF or SAR test report (an EMF or SAR report is not required for indoor or outdoor use at output power below 25 mW).
3) Electrical safety test report, for example IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368-1 or TIS 62368-1.
For products previously certified under class A or class B without 6 GHz capability (such as 4G or 5G phones with Wi-Fi), if 6 GHz Wi-Fi is added, the NBTC will require a new type approval certificate and the model number must differ from the original. For products previously certified under SDoC without 6 GHz capability (such as 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi), if 6 GHz Wi-Fi is added, the NBTC will require a new SDoC and the model number may remain the same.
