Yemen's Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTIT) has announced that applications for various commercial and industrial certificates, suspended since early 2025, will resume fully from September this year. The decision has been confirmed through internal government channels but has not yet been formally announced through official media.
Background
The resumption is an important step in improving Yemen's trade management system, and reopening the application channel will help restore normal domestic and international trade. Because applications have piled up over the past months, the authorities expect a significantly heavier workload and cannot currently estimate precise issuance times. MTIT has stated that it will follow a strict first-come, first-served principle, processing applications in the order received to ensure a transparent and fair process.
To improve efficiency, the ministry is also coordinating additional staffing, streamlining approval procedures and plans to publish further operational details and guidance shortly. It calls on applicant companies and agencies to cooperate by preparing complete materials in advance so that incomplete information does not delay review.
