On 29 June 2024 the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) issued national standard announcement No. 14 of 2024, approving 109 national standards including Ferromanganese silicon alloy and four amendments to national standards.

Amendment No. 1 to GB/T 26572-2011, Requirements for concentration limits for certain restricted substances in electrical and electronic products, which underpins China RoHS, takes effect on 1 January 2026.

Main changes

New controls on phthalates. Four phthalate esters are brought into the scope of the standard and made subject to control: dibutyl phthalate (DBP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) and bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP).

Updated test method standards. The previous test method standard GB/T 26125-2011 is replaced by GB/T 39560, all parts, Determination of certain substances in electrical and electronic products.

Adjusted criterion for hexavalent chromium. Following the method specified in GB/T 39560.701, a result of hexavalent chromium negative is taken as the criterion for conformity.
