According to Announcement No. 10 of 2023 of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), SAMR has decided to apply mandatory CCC certification management to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs as well as portable power banks from 1 August 2023. From 1 August 2024, products that have not obtained a CCC certification certificate and do not bear the certification mark may not be released from the factory, sold, imported or used in other business activities.

Definition of the scope of CCC certification for the newly included products

New requirements for the production and use of CCC certificates and marks

According to Announcement No. 12 of 2023 of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA), from 1 January 2024 the production and use of CCC certification certificates and marks shall comply with the Management Requirements for Compulsory Product Certification Certificates and the Management Requirements for Compulsory Product Certification Marks.

Note: the Management Requirements for the Application of Compulsory Product Certification Marks issued under CNCA Announcement No. 10 of 2018 is repealed at the same time.
