On 2 October 2023, ECHA announced another new SVHC substance of intention, with public consultation planned for February 2024. The details of the substance are as follows:
To date, 15 substances have been published as SVHC substances under consultation or as intentions, comprising 7 substances under consultation and 8 intentions. It is worth noting that dibutyl phthalate (DBP), one of the 7 substances under consultation, was added to the SVHC list as early as October 2008; this second consultation on the substance was launched because a new hazard type has been identified. Therefore, the substances that may be added to the SVHC list in future actually number only 14: the 6 substances under consultation other than DBP, plus the 8 intentions.
