On 21 March 2024, the European Commission adopted the draft amendment to the POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 tightening the limit for HBCDD, confirming a reduction of the hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD) limit from the previous 100 mg/kg to 75 mg/kg. The regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
