Following the test report exemptions granted on 29 December 2025 for repeaters, NB-IoT and 5G FR2 products, India's Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued a supplementary notice on 18 February 2026 that further widens the scope of exemptions and extends the compliance buffer for certain products.
A further exemption order
Under the latest notice, 5G NR Type 1-H base stations, composite active antenna systems and 128G Fibre Channel interface equipment are exempt from submitting test reports for specific parameters until 30 June 2026. During this period manufacturers must submit a self-declaration of conformity as the substitute document.
The exempt parameters are:
- 5G NR Type 1-H base stations: OTA sensitivity and radiated transmit power (per 3GPP TS 38.141-2);
- composite active antenna systems: OTA sensitivity and radiated transmit power (per 3GPP TS 37.145-2);
- 128G Fibre Channel: all applicable parameters.
TEC states that companies must upload this exemption letter together with the self-declaration of conformity to the MTCTE portal. The measure is intended to relieve testing pressure on the industry and ensure a smooth supply chain transition.
