On 23 October 2023, the FCC released KDB 388624 D02 Pre-Approval Guidance List v18r04, replacing KDB 388624 D02 Pre-Approval Guidance List v18r03. The new KDB removes the UNII DFS content. This means that from that date, 5G DFS master and 5G DFS slave products with radar detection functions no longer need to go through the PAG process.

History of FCC certification for 5G DFS master and 5G DFS slave products with radar detection functions:
1. Before 4 March 2020, the PAG process was required and samples had to be sent to the FCC for testing;
2. From 4 March 2020 to 23 October 2023, because of the impact of COVID-19, the Columbia laboratory department in the United States stopped DFS verification testing (that is, samples no longer had to be sent to the FCC for testing), but the DFS PAG process was still required to obtain FCC certification. The PAG timeline depended on the FCC's workload and generally took 1 to 2 weeks;
3. After 23 October 2023, samples no longer need to be sent to the FCC and the PAG process is no longer required.
This will greatly shorten the FCC certification cycle for 5G DFS master and 5G DFS slave products with radar detection functions.
