What is CCC certification?
Compulsory product certification, better known to consumers as CCC certification, is a market access system that the Chinese government applies to products affecting personal health and safety, in accordance with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations and internationally accepted practice, and following market-based and international principles.
Why implement CCC certification?
CCC certification has played an important role in improving product safety and quality and protecting consumer rights. As certification has been implemented thoroughly and effectively, the pass rate for luminaire products has risen from 32% to 94%, the pass rate for child car seats from less than 10% to 97%, and the average pass rate for certified products has stabilised above 90%.
To date the CCC certification system covers 16 major categories and 96 products, including household electronic appliances, automobiles and toys - consumer industrial products that affect the daily life of the general public.
