Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) issued Act No. 4746 on 2 April 2026. The act amends certain provisions of Act No. 14158 of 1 October 2025 and took effect on 6 April 2026. It also defers the entry into force of Article 11, item III, to 6 October 2026. That item concerns the withdrawal of the alternative method for assessing the maximum peak output power limit of transmitters.
What the regulation says
Under the amended act, manufacturers are not required to demonstrate that their products meet the updated requirements introduced by Act No. 14158 of 1 October 2025, provided the products were already certified under an earlier version of that act.
ANATEL has also stated explicitly that products certified using the alternative method for assessing the maximum peak output power limit do not need additional bandwidth testing or compliance with stricter spurious emission requirements.
The amended requirements apply only to newly certified equipment.
