From 1 November 2023
IMDA will stop accepting new registrations and renewals for 3G-only mobile phones and smartphones without VoLTE functionality.

Sale of 3G-only mobile phones and smartphones without VoLTE support for local use will no longer be permitted.
From 31 July 2024
Singapore will discontinue its 3G network and services.
Points for brands and manufacturers
When selling 3G mobile devices and smartphones without VoLTE support, inform customers that 3G services will cease on 31 July 2024;
For customers buying 4G or 5G mobile phones or smartphones, ensure that VoLTE is enabled, or help customers enable VoLTE on their new devices, and encourage them to make test calls to confirm that voice calls can be made over VoLTE; and
With the retirement of the 3G network, voice call services (such as calls to emergency numbers) can only be made over VoLTE. Please therefore also ensure that mobile phones already sold can make emergency calls when using local operators' networks.
