Vietnam has drafted a national technical regulation for short range devices (SRD), namely radio equipment using the 9 kHz to 25 MHz frequency range, based on ETSI EN 300 220 V2.1.1 (2017-02). The new technical regulation sets radio frequency requirements for short range devices, covering equipment operating in the 9 kHz to 25 MHz range such as general SRDs, and inductive loop equipment operating in the 9 kHz to 30 MHz range. This includes radio frequency identification (RFID), near field communication (NFC) and electronic article surveillance (EAS) equipment operating in the LF and HF ranges.
The national technical regulation applies to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals that manufacture and trade in Vietnam in equipment covered by the regulation. The deadline for final comments on the draft is 15 May 2023. The proposed date of adoption is 1 August 2023 and the proposed date of entry into force is 1 August 2024.
