High pressure steam (autoclave) testing, i.e. high temperature, high humidity and high pressure testing, is a highly accelerated test method used to evaluate the ability of electronic products to withstand humid heat. NTEK provides autoclave testing services for electronic product quality evaluation, failure analysis, reliability testing and more.

High pressure steam testing mainly examines two aspects:
1. Heat resistance
2. Resistance to high-temperature media
Heat resistance test:
Fill the pouch with water to one half to two thirds of its volume, then degas and seal it, place it in an autoclave for 30 min, cool under reduced pressure to room temperature and take it out, then check the pouch for obvious deformation, interlayer delamination, heat seal peeling and other abnormalities.
High-temperature media resistance test:
Fill the pouch with 4% acetic acid, 1% sodium sulfide, 5% sodium chloride aqueous solution and refined vegetable oil respectively, then degas and seal it, and cook it at 121℃ for 40 min in an autoclave equipped with a back-pressure cooling device, cooling while keeping the pressure constant.
Post-autoclave visual inspection:
The pouch surface should be flat, without wrinkles, bubbles or deformation, and free of delamination and leakage; if any of these defects is present, the sample is deemed non-conforming.
