Titanium is an important structural metal developed in the 1950s. Titanium alloys are widely used in many fields because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and high heat resistance.
Of the three types of titanium alloys, alpha titanium alloys and alpha+beta titanium alloys are the most commonly used. Alpha titanium alloys have the best machinability, alpha+beta alloys come next, and beta alloys are the worst. Alpha titanium alloys are designated TA, beta alloys TB, and alpha+beta alloys TC.
