Metallographic analysis is one of the important means of experimental research on metal materials. Using the principles of quantitative metallography, the three-dimensional spatial morphology of the alloy structure is determined from measurement and calculation of the microstructure on a two-dimensional polished section or thin foil, thereby establishing quantitative relationships between alloy composition, structure and properties.
