Metal grade identification determines the composition and proportions of a sample by instrumental or chemical analysis, analyses the metal elements, and compares the results with the product standard requirements corresponding to the declared material grade to judge conformity.
Metal grade identification mainly uses precision instruments such as direct-reading spectrometers, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers (ICP-OES), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometers (ICP-MS), carbon-sulphur analysers and oxygen-nitrogen analysers to analyse the chemical element composition of metal materials and thereby identify the possible material grade.
