The rapid development of electronic component technology and improved reliability underpin modern electronic equipment. The fundamental task of component reliability work is to improve component reliability. Reliability analysis of components must therefore be emphasised and accelerated: failure mechanisms are determined through analysis, root causes are identified and fed back to design, manufacturing and use, and corrective measures are jointly studied and implemented to improve the reliability of electronic components.
The purpose of electronic component failure analysis is to confirm the failure phenomenon using various test and analysis techniques and procedures, distinguish the failure mode and failure mechanism, confirm the ultimate cause of failure, and propose recommendations for improving design and manufacturing processes, so as to prevent recurrence and improve component reliability.
