FTIR analysis is an identification method combining Fourier transform mathematical processing and computer technology with infrared spectroscopy, consisting mainly of an optical detection section and a computer section. FTIR can be used to study molecular structure and chemical bonds, and also as a method for characterising and identifying chemical species. Infrared spectra are highly characteristic, so analysis and identification can be performed by comparison with the infrared spectra of standard compounds.
