The Automotive Electronics Council was founded in 1994 by Chrysler, Ford and GM, and its members now include major vehicle manufacturers and automotive electronics and semiconductor companies worldwide. Automotive electronics are qualified mainly against AEC standards: AEC addresses in-vehicle applications, automotive parts and automotive electronics, establishing standard specifications and quality management control standards that improve the stability and standardisation of automotive electronics. Meeting the AEC-Q test requirements plays an important role in strengthening product competitiveness and entering the supply chain quickly - AEC-Q certification is the entry threshold for the automotive sector.
