On 13 January 2025, the former SDPPI (Direktorat Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika) was renamed DJID (Direktorat Jenderal Infrastruktur Digital), the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure. DJID is responsible for certification management of telecom equipment in Indonesia, ensuring equipment meets technical standards and safeguarding communication security and rational spectrum use. The authority aims to ensure reliable and safe use of telecom products in Indonesia, prevent mutual interference between devices and safeguard the stability and reliability of wireless communication networks. Certification effectively protects consumer rights and avoids the potential risks of non-compliant equipment. DJID certification is mandatory for telecom products to enter the Indonesian market; uncertified products cannot be sold there.
