Medical protective clothing generally refers to the protective garments worn by medical staff (doctors, nurses, public health workers, cleaning staff) and by anyone entering a designated medical or health area (patients, hospital visitors, people entering an infected zone). Its function is to isolate pathogens, harmful ultrafine dust, acid and alkaline solutions and electromagnetic radiation, so as to protect personnel and keep the environment clean. Such clothing is made from special materials such as polyethylene, which makes it light, soft, breathable and water-repellent while blocking pathogens and harmful agents. On some garments the seams are additionally sealed with tape for better protection.
