Eye diagram testing evaluates signal quality. A digital signal's eye diagram contains rich information, reflects the overall characteristics of the digital signal and allows its quality to be assessed well, so eye diagram analysis is one of the keys to signal integrity analysis in digital systems.
What is eye diagram testing
Simply put, an eye diagram is formed by overlaying a series of bit periods on the horizontal axis of an oscilloscope to produce an eye-shaped waveform. It is the display of a digital signal's series of different binary codes accumulated on the oscilloscope screen according to a certain rule. Because oscilloscopes have a persistence function, capturing all waveforms and overlaying them in three-bit groups forms the eye diagram.
