Mould is a microorganism that is widely distributed in nature and occurs extensively in soil and in air. The mould test is one of the climatic environment tests, used to assess the ability of food, products or materials to resist mould attack. As with other environmental tests, the conditions under which the product is most likely to suffer mould damage during transport, storage or use are selected, recreated in the laboratory by artificial simulation, and then applied in the test.
