The Republic of Haiti is located in the north of the Caribbean, in the western part of the island of Hispaniola, bordered by the Dominican Republic to the east, the Caribbean Sea to the south, the Atlantic Ocean to the north, and separated from Cuba and Jamaica to the west. It is divided into 10 departments, 42 arrondissements and 144 municipalities, with the capital at Port-au-Prince. In 2022 the population was 12.08 million, of whom 95% are Black.
Type approval in Haiti is regulated by CONATEL (Conseil National des Télécommunications). Approval of radio equipment is based on US (FCC) standards or European (EU) standards.
