UKCA stands for UK Conformity Assessed. On 2 February 2019 the UK government announced that the UKCA marking scheme would be adopted in the event of a no-deal Brexit; after 29 March, trade with the UK would follow World Trade Organization rules. Like the CE marking, the UKCA marking requires the manufacturer to ensure the product meets the standards laid down by law, complete a self-declaration in accordance with the prescribed procedure and then apply the corresponding marking to the product.
Most products currently within the scope of CE marking must bear the UKCA marking if they are to be exported to the UK market (England, Wales and Scotland). The UKCA marking does not apply to products entering Northern Ireland.
